As a dental assistant, you may be responsible for a variety of administrative and patient care duties, including:
- Preparing patients for examinations
- Conducting patient interviews
- Charting histories
- Taking vital signs
- Assisting during minor surgeries and laboratory procedures
- Performing radiographic procedures
- Taking dental impressions
- Offering chairside assistance during examinations
This program allows you to train hands-on with the most commonly found equipment used in dentistry today. Our dental lab features a variety of dental models for all dental specialties, including general dentistry, orthodontics, oral surgery, pediatric dentistry and more. Plus, you can complete an externship at a local dental office, giving you more than 300 hours of real-world experience. Upon graduating, you could be ready to find a career working for a hospital dental department, dental office, dental supply manufacturer or insurance company.
